Margaretville, NY - Pictures from the March 17, 1936 Flood

"Margaretville and Downsville were hardest hit in this section, Margaretville was marooned until late Wednesday afternoon. The Arkville road was under several feet of water, near Earl Jenkins' garage. The Margaretvllle-Roxbury road was also flooded. The Andes-Margaretville road, was also flooded. An empty storage tank at the Keystone gas station, Margaretville was captured by the flood waters Wednesday morning and carried as far as the fairground bridge where it became wedged. It was rescued before dark."
